Meet my Box of Crayons

Since this was such a crazy week and I didn't get to upload this weeks pictures due to my laptop being temperamental. :( I have decided to introduce you to my family. I have been learning alot about the "in" colors for the season. Did you know that the "In" color for this spring is 'Honeysuckle'? It's a deep shade pink just lighter than red! Yes, so I have replaced the word 'pink' with 'Honeysuckle' in my pink listings on Etsy. here. Doesn't 'Honeysuckle' seem so much more sophisticated than just plain 'PINK' ???


The "in" color for me is Purple. All Shades of purple make me feel happy!!! Here is what I learned about my favorite color: Purple has a sense of mystic and royal qualities, purple is a color often well liked by very creative or eccentric types and is the favorite color of adolescent girls. So does this tell you something about me?? :) I don't think I have yet outgrown the adolescent stage of my life! LOL



So now to introduce you to the rest of the Family!


My Husband, 'Big Blue' It sure wasn't hard to decide which color was Him. Blue is the overwhelming "favorite color." Blue is seen as trustworthy, dependable, and committed. The color of ocean and sky, blue is perceived as a constant in our lives. It invokes rest and can cause the body to produce chemicals that are calming. That is my Husband for sure! I am so proud of the Daddy he has become! Taking a new job AND a pay cut just to have more time at home with his family! I Love who I am when I am with him!!


Ok, I won't bore you with any more mushy stuff.


Meet 'Miss Green' (Kristina Ann,) our lovely first born!! Green is seen as tranquil and refreshing, with a natural balance of cool and warm (blue and yellow) undertones. Green is considered the color of peace and ecology. Kristina, peace loving, and dependable! Another reason I choose this color for her is because she LOVES the outdoors and is a real tomboy!


Meet 'Miss Yellow' (Staci Jane). Yellow shines with optimism, enlightenment, and happiness. Shades of golden yellow carry the promise of a positive future. Yellow will advance from surrounding colors and instill optimism and energy, as well as spark creative thoughts. No more need be said. this describes her to a T.



Meet 'Little Blue' (Mitchell Alan). I searched and search for a unique color for Mitchell. But I always came back to BLUE. He is like his Daddy in all his ways.!! Love my 'Little Blue' .

Meet 'Honeysuckle' (Hadassah Grace)
Flirtatious Honeysuckle is a feel-good hue that brings a festive sense of playfulness,This vibrant pinkish-red color makes people feel alive, and energized! Honeysuckle is the color of happiness and is sometimes seen as lighthearted and carefree!
Hadassah brings such joy and happiness to our lives, It was hard to choose just one color for her!

So there you have it! All the Zimmerman's in a box!

    I LOVE this post, so sweet! :) My daughter is whatever color is vibrant, makes you think of a mischief-maker, strong, and very caring. Possibly a yellow. :) What a fun way to describe your family!

How to make your own Snicker Bars

Tis the time of year when Making homemade Candy actually sounds like fun. IF you don't think about it for too long and just DO it. When My sister called last week and said "lets make candy" I started salivating at the thought of my favorite Christmas candy and I said, "Yes, let's". Chocolate Carmel Candy or as my family calls it, Snicker Candy. Here you go: Layer 1: 1 cup milk Choc chips 1/4 cup butterscotch chips 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter Melt together until creamy and smooth, pour into bottom of 9x13 pan and chill until set. Layer 2: 1/4cup butter 1 cup white sugar 1/4 cup evaporated milk 1/4 cup marshmallow creme 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter 1&1/2 cup chopped salted peanuts 1 tsp vanilla Melt butter in heavy sauce pan over medium heat, add sugar and milk and bring to a boil. boil and stir for 5 minutes. Amish Hat Cookies

These are cookies from my childhood!!!   Mom always made them at Christmas time and this Christmas I planned on making some for my family! well it finally happened this week!! Made a double batch and they lasted 2 whole days!!!  Yes they are THAT good!!!! Soft chocolate cookie with marshmallow and chocolate frosting to top it all off!!!       Amish Hat cookies: 1 cup softened butter 1 1/2 cup white sugar 2 eggs 2 tsp vanilla 1/2 tsp salt 3/4 tsp Baking Soda 2/3 cup baking cocoa 2 cups flour 25-30 large marshmallows halves   Cream butter, sugar and eggs,   add Vanilla Baking soda and salt and then flour   dip unto cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees until center of cookie spring back slightly when touched. remove cookies and add a marshmallow half to each cookie and return to oven for another minute.   cool cookies and then frost with your favorite chocolate frosting!!   Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
