The "in" color for me is Purple. All Shades of purple make me feel happy!!! Here is what I learned about my favorite color: Purple has a sense of mystic and royal qualities, purple is a color often well liked by very creative or eccentric types and is the favorite color of adolescent girls. So does this tell you something about me?? :) I don't think I have yet outgrown the adolescent stage of my life! LOL
So now to introduce you to the rest of the Family!
My Husband, 'Big Blue' It sure wasn't hard to decide which color was Him. Blue is the overwhelming "favorite color." Blue is seen as trustworthy, dependable, and committed. The color of ocean and sky, blue is perceived as a constant in our lives. It invokes rest and can cause the body to produce chemicals that are calming. That is my Husband for sure! I am so proud of the Daddy he has become! Taking a new job AND a pay cut just to have more time at home with his family! I Love who I am when I am with him!!
Ok, I won't bore you with any more mushy stuff.
Meet 'Miss Green' (Kristina Ann,) our lovely first born!! Green is seen as tranquil and refreshing, with a natural balance of cool and warm (blue and yellow) undertones. Green is considered the color of peace and ecology. Kristina, peace loving, and dependable! Another reason I choose this color for her is because she LOVES the outdoors and is a real tomboy!
Meet 'Miss Yellow' (Staci Jane). Yellow shines with optimism, enlightenment, and happiness. Shades of golden yellow carry the promise of a positive future. Yellow will advance from surrounding colors and instill optimism and energy, as well as spark creative thoughts. No more need be said. this describes her to a T.
Blue is the overwhelming "favorite color." Blue is seen as trustworthy, dependable, and committed. The color of ocean and sky, blue is perceived as a constant in our lives. It invokes rest and can cause the body to produce chemicals that are calming.
Flirtatious Honeysuckle is a feel-good hue that brings a festive sense of playfulness,This vibrant pinkish-red color makes people feel alive, and energized! Honeysuckle is the color of happiness and is sometimes seen as lighthearted and carefree!

The Precense of the Lord is such a wonderful healing thing that when you experience it, the sweetness of it lingers with you!
When I was a small girl I spent hours thinking about heaven. I spent hours thinking about if I really would like it there..and if I would really like it better than I liked being with my family. As an adult it was just common Knowledge that heaven was the place you wanted to be, but I still thought about what it would be like there.. What would we do?? Would I be frightened to meet God? I was sure I wanted to go to heaven, but I wasn't sure if I wanted to face God, I knew I was a sinner and THOUGHT I had not done anything GOOD ENOUGH and had this great fear that he would cast me out!
After I became 'Born Again' I began experienceing the wonderful presence of the Lord and worshipping him with raised voice and raised hands. This time of praise and worship became so prescious to me, it was the BEST thing I had ever experienced!!

- When I think about home school moms I automatically translate that into 'Super-Mom'.
I should know... I have a 'Super-Mom' sister or 2. but most of all I used to BE ONE OF THEM!! Yes, they do it all! make nutritious meals 3 times a day for a growing family! (Some even make freezer meals!!) They grind their own wheat, bake their own bread. they have their own chickens for eggs and even a goat or 2 for fresh milk! they have menu plans for weeks in advance! Their Children sort their own laundry, some even DO their own laundry. they ALWAYS dry their laundry on the line.... Are you getting tired yet??? well I am!
- Ok, we all know that no-body is 'Super-mom' we all know that All of us have our areas where we feel we don't measure up! I am a huge cheerleader for home schools!! I love to see happy families walking in the Path that the Lord has planned for them!!
- NOW FOR MY CONFESSION.....
- I DID NOT ENJOY COOKING NUTRITIOUS MEALS!!! Nope not one bit!! I loved the idea of FEEDING my children Nutritious home cooked meals. I just didn't want to be the one cooking them!!!! Now before you judge me listen to this!! I DID enjoy milking my goats, Yes they smell a bit but so what!! I did enjoy growing healthy fruits and veggies in my own garden, yes, weeding, dirt under the nails and all!! BUT NOT COOKING! for all my home school years I wanted to enjoy cooking but it NEVER happened!!
- So now we eat spaghetti WITHOUT WHOLE WHEAT NOODLES, just regular noodles.
- we eat STORE BOUGHT EGGS!!
- we BUY our yogurt!! (always plain though, no added sugar) LOL.
- we SOMETIMES eat cereal from a CARDBOARD BOX!!!!
- BUT.. here is the rest of the story.. Yes I Love when my kids eat healthy and love it.. (only because they don't know it!! So here is how I get a SUPERFOOD into their snacks!
- SMART COOKIES
- 1.5 cups butter
- 1.5 cups pure maple syrup
- 2 eggs
- 1tsp salt
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 2tsp vanilla
- 1.5cups ground flax seed
- 2.5 cups quick oats
- 2.5 cups whole wheat flour
Haddy and I grinding the wheat for the cookies.. (just like the little red hen, I know.)Read about the health benefits of fresh ground wheat here
- The SUPERFOOD!! Flax seed! I prefer the light colored flax seed because the kids and their Daddy CAN'T SEE when I add it to something!
- Omega-3 essential fatty acids, "good" fats that have been shown to have heart-healthy effects. Each tablespoon of ground flaxseed contains about 1.8 grams of plant omega-3s.
(Optimal function of the human brain depends on presence of Omega 3 fatty acids. They are essential building materials for the brain during development and crucial to proper brain function and maintenance. These fatty acids improve communication between the cells and are the main ingredient for making myelin sheaths, a protective membrane covering tissue connecting neurons. Deficiencies can lead to hyperactivity, attention deficiency disorder (ADD), dyslexia, violence, depression, memory loss and various behavioral disorders.)
- Lignans, which have both plant estrogen and antioxidant qualities. Flaxseed contains 75- 800 times more lignans than other plant foods
- Fiber. Flaxseed contains both the soluble and insoluble types.
Flax seed all ground up and ready to add some Smartness to these cookies!!
A little chocolate never hurt anyone, RIGHT????
- Here are some of the health benefits of flax seed!

It happens after days of having a teething baby that has a sinus cold and thinks everyone should suffer with her, a 3 yr old with same sinus cold who thinks Mom is here to carry out his every wish and command!
So this morning With a 3 yr. old who thinks 5am is a good time to get into bed with mom and crowd her out of bed until she decides to get up, I didn't want to take him back into his bedroom at that time of the morning because he shares a room with his sister and only one thing worse than a 3yr old awake at 5am is a 14 mo old awake at 5am. (the 3yrold at least lets me doze off in between falling out of my own bed.)
but alas 6am and Hubby's alarm starts going and going and going.. with the volume on HIGH.. this is not just the beep, beep, beep of a regular alarm.. but a very annoying ringtone on his cell! Said 14mo. old gets all excited because she knows she gets to see Dad now and starts dancing in her crib yelling for Dad! (he still sleeps) at this point I decide it's defiantly easier to let them get up than try to convince them to go back to bed and sleep till their usual wake up time of 7:30!
If there is one thing that sends my morning into a downward spiral it's not having at least 15 min to myself before I face the family and the whole day! time to get myself together, clean my bathroom and get breakfast started... but this morning they are demanding breakfast. yeah it's bad.. they are STARVING!!! they sit at the table CRYING while I try to hurry up get dressed!!
breakfast is done and it's on to the constant struggle of getting the Big girls to get their chores done in a timely fashion and done RIGHT!! all the while thinking I failed as a mom because my 9 yr. old does not realize how important it is for her chores to be done RIGHT.. I can tell by the pitiful way the dog stares at me that he thinks i failed too because I didn't teach her that he needs a full scoop of food!!!
I ave no idea why i decided this morning was the time to get her 9yr. old attitude adjusted into the proper shape.....
so my plan is to take the girls to school, run to town and get a few groceries that I need to make a dessert for a women's conference at church on Saturday.
I get to town praying all the way that the little ones don't fall asleep before I get there.. They stay awake BUT I discover that I forgot my wallet!!! I was in tears by this time!!! so I decide to go back home and put Miss Haddy down for a nap, well she falls asleep on the way home, no big deal, i just carry her upsairs and put her in her bed. BUT no such luck, she has decided she has had enough of a nap!! So here I am with a CRANKY Haddy, no groceries and a bad attitude myself!!! Someone needs to come spank me and adjust my attitude!! :)
My plan is putting all else on hold to find some peace in the word of the Lord!
be Still and know that I am God!!!
Thanks for helping me out with my therapy session!!!!
