While we Wait

Spring is being soooo elusive this year! Maybe because we have had a FEW warm days and are now expecting every day to be a 'play outside' kind of day! I am not one that usually complains about the weather, Complaining doesn't change anything and only makes me feel worse! But how to cope with rainy, blue days? Days where Little Blue and Honeysuckle have one tantrum after another when told they can't play in the 36 degree rain. Days with failed picnics because although the sun is shining and the thermometer says 48 degrees, the wind is howling it's way across the Midwest after sweeping over the frozen tundra of the North Pole! Days where I don't even read my favorite blog because I know that she will once again have GORGEOUS pictures of Sunny warm Florida and my heart will be overcome with jealousy and longing!!

So How are we coping with these dreary days before spring arrives? We spend pleasant 'before nap' hours watering plants in our greenhouse, and soaking in a few stray UV rays here and there.

And while we wait for beautiful June Lilies to sparkle with dew in the moon light,

We make our own dew in the shelter of a heated greenhouse.

While we wait for days where the laundry drys in a matter of an hour or less, and smells of summer breezes and sunshine.

We gracefully step across remaining snow drifts and with freezing fingers bring in Laundry that just didn't quite dry before sunset.

While we wait for sunny, sandy days of swimming and sand castle building.

We play "in the sunshine" with a tub of rice and dried beans.

While we wait for warm windless days where the only breeze to be found is by swinging for hours under the shade tree.

We bundle up in layers and head to the park to spend a few minutes swinging in a bone-chilling pre-spring breeze!

While we wait for gentle evening thunderstorms to fill the driveway's pot-holes with just the right amount of water for 'tricycle mudding'.

We again done the layers and ride the animals at the park in a pretend winter Olympics!

It's the time of year where I can spend hours looking at last summer's pictures instead of actually scrapbooking them. It's when I start feeling like the Strawberry picking birthday party of last summer was only a dream and I blow the grocery budget by buying too many shipped in strawberries!

AHHHH sweet summer, why do you elude us!!!

I know some of you have been having spring for a while now but What do you most enjoy doing in the warm weather??

Little Blue's new Smile

Today was the day.. The day that I had been dreading since October. The day my 3yr.old was put to sleep with that wonderful yet scary drug called anesthesia while the dentist worked on all 20 of his baby teeth! We have no idea what caused this decay of his baby teeth. The dentist seems to think it is a combination of weak teeth and the fact that Little Blue slept in our bed and used ME as his pacifier. ??? Apparently the super food (breast Milk) has enough sugar in it that when it sits on baby teeth that are as crowded as his were.....Who knows..
But Here is Little Blue's New smile.. Until his permanent teeth show up he will have this beautiful toothless smile and the most adorable lisp in his speech.

Being so brave, waiting for the sleepy meds! He was so proud of those red socks! His pre-op smile! Snuggling with mom in recovery! Still sooo sleepy but dressed and ready to go home!
Sleeping, Securely buckled in his seat on the way home.
As I write this less than 12 hrs after surgery, he is playing softball in the living room and tormenting his sisters. Feeling pretty special because he gets to eat pudding and jello out of little cups and special pink medicine Other than a sweet lisp when he talks one would never know the trauma he's been through today.

But.. this Mama sure feels it! I am tired and I am stressed out. Don't talk to me.. don't ask me any questions.. Just leave me alone to sort out all the fears and possible outcomes that went through my mind today.Leave me alone to wonder what I should have done differently. Leave me alone to apologize to God for all the moments I doubted today!

My heart goes out to the moms who sit and wait while their precious children go through one surgery after another, most of them much longer than Little Blue's 2 hour surgery. Some of them not knowing if their darling is going to ever kiss and hug them again! It's moms like this that I am in awe of today!! May God's Richest blessings be upon you today and every surgery day you walk through!

here's the new camo I promised you! A 2 pc outfit. Buy it here OR buy JUST the skirt here. Thanks for reading!!!

Spring is (was) here!! The new HaddyGrace Designs are out!!!! read all the way to the bottom for the links!

Temps were finally in the 70's. (never mind that this morn it was 26 degrees again.) So the girls and I hit the dressing room, tubs of Shorts, flip-flops, and tank tops are turned inside out as we frantically dig for cooler clothes as if we are afraid if we waste a minute, the sun will feel unwelcome.

I always get a HUGE burst of energy when it finally warms up! I feel the urge to roll around in the green grass on my back making doggy sounds, I feel the urge to scratch around in my garden making chicken sounds, and most of all laying in the sun without moving a muscle like a Lizard, soaking up every UV ray that I missed during the long winter! Ahhhh !!! I LOVE the out doors!!

My Family is NOT the 'City Park' kind of family.. We are much more of a hiking, biking, stroller pushing, swimming, kayaking, kind of family. BUT our favorite parks don't open their gates until Memorial day!! How annoying! So on this sunny Sunday we decide to go to the city Park. Amid the sounds of traffic, neighbor noises, and a loud generator, (country folk all the way!) we spent a few hours in the sun.

Little Blue conquering all the ladders!!

Miss Green and Miss Yellow hard a play!

Conquering the stone wall!

Honeysuckle went everywhere!! So hard to believe that last spring she was a baby happily watching her siblings from the sling or stroller!! She felt so grown up as she followed her brother around! Love her dress??? It's the new "Livia Dress" inspired by my photographer/friend B*Pretty's baby girl whom I finally get to meet when she enters this world in just a few weeks! It's in my Etsy shop, here. Large black, orange, and red poppy like flowers on a cream colored back ground are the perfect mix to make any occasion feel festive! A ruffle at the bottom makes it perfect for a bit of twirl!

And here is the lavander and peapod Livia dress! I must say this is my favorite! I love the colors so much!!!
The Livia Dress had a gentle band of elastic around the chest to form a ruffle that gives a princess look!!
These colors SCREAM spring to me!

And don't forget the Owl outfit ,
H for Hadassah, I can do any number or letter for you!

I have redesigned the skirt, and it is now available in my etsy shop as a 2 pc outfit or the skirt alone!

Oh!! I do have MORE Camo coming up too for those of you who Love this dress!
